Abstract
This article describes the characteristics of the equipment of stands designed to dry the lining of steel-pouring ladles in shops at the West Siberian Metallurigical Combine. The equipment makes such stands more efficient and lowers fuel consumption. Specialists at the combine have designed a stand for heating the ladle lining to 1100–1200°C and have installed it in converter shop No. 2. Regimes have been developed for the drying and high-temperature heating of ladles on two vertical stands designed by the company American Combustion. The stands have an automated process control system. Drying and high-temperature heating regimes have also been developed for a newly rebuilt horizontal stand.
