Abstract
Stimulants alone were effective in treating aggressive behavior in children with attention‐deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD) — see article on page 1. However, the trial was “inconclusive” because the participants who did well on stimulants alone were not eligible to randomization for the next treatment — second generation antipsychotics. It was published, however, because there are lessons for clinicians — optimize stimulant dose — and trialists — publish your research because it can still help. Moving on to stepped treatment for those whom stimulants didn't help completely, did help the other patients.
