Abstract

Introduction: Establishing a robust Quality Management System (QMS) is crucial for Lebanese pharmaceutical companies to meet international standards and ensure the quality and safety of their products. Objective: This study investigates the challenges associated with QMS implementation in this context, focusing on economic constraints and technological solutions. Recommendations are provided to improve pharmaceutical companies’ overall quality, compliance, and competitiveness. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive quantitative analysis was conducted over two months. Data was collected through a structured online survey and analyzed using SPSS® version 24. Results: Findings reveal significant challenges, including insufficient top management support, financial constraints, and resistance to fostering a quality improvement culture. Conclusion: The study concludes that Lebanon faces challenges such as resistance to change, resource constraints, lack of training, regulatory complexities, integration issues, and the imperative for continuous improvement in QMS implementation. Despite the widespread adoption of QMS, continuous training and cultivating a culture of continuous quality improvement are essential for further progression. These insights address industry-specific hurdles and promote effective QMS adoption, providing a pathway toward enhanced quality and competitiveness in the Lebanese pharmaceutical sector.
