Abstract

Cloud computing has been considered as a solution for solving enterprise application distribution and configuration challenges in the traditional software sales model. In order to provide services by cloud systems to mission-critical areas, such as e-administration, medical care and finance, it is essential to meet demands for guaranteed end-to-end service quality, compliance and reliability issues and power saving in the cloud systems. If the quantity of spare resources available to a single cloud system is limited, the system may not be able to provide stable services. This paper proposes a mechanism for flexible assignment of resources among different cloud systems, in order to guarantee the required service quality, such as service availability and performance The proposed algorithm is based on workload distribution among various virtual machines. The paper proposes a model for resource stipulation techniques and offers to guarantee the required service quality such as service availability and performance. The proposed algorithm distributes the load among various virtual machines based on a resource stipulation model. Evaluation in terms of workload efficiency for a Video on Demand application is performed.
