Abstract

Purpose/Objective: Curative treatment of oropharyngeal carcinoma with conventional radiation is limited by the tolerance of adjacent normal structures and the severity of acute reactions. Our aim was to compare the isodose distribution and dose volume histograms of two state of the art radiotherapy modalities, IMRT and proton beam radiation therapy in a patient with an advanced oropharyngeal carcinoma.
