Abstract

AbstractWith the development of the high-speed railway, the energy demand for high-speed railway traction power supply systems is increasing rapidly. To further saving energy and reducing consumption, it is necessary to improve the utilization mode of Regenerative Braking Energy (RBE) produced by the braking state in the process of the high-speed rail train operation. Firstly, this paper analyses the load characteristics in different operation states and RBE characteristics respectively. Secondly, it presents two kinds of RBE utilization modes: Energy Storage (ES) mode and Cascade Feedback (CF) of traction substations combining with ES mode. Thirdly, the mathematical model of RBE optimal utilization is established with the object of minimizing the cost of power supply, and while simulation calculation with an actual case is completed. Finally, through the comparison and analysis of the simulation results of the two modes, it shows that the RBE utilization rate of CF combining with ES mode reaches up to 76% and the cost of power supply is also significantly reduced, which further proves the validity and practicability of this mode.KeywordsRegenerative Braking Energy (RBE)Energy UtilizationEnergy Storage (ES)Cascade Feedback (CF) of Traction Substations
