Abstract

This paper presents an approach of predicting the vibration and acoustic response of ring-stiffened cylindrical shell in infinite underwater domain using the so-called acoustic transfer vector (ATV) technique. It is verified that the ATV is efficient in solving the vibration and acoustic response of the underwater structures by comparing with the results obtained from standard boundary element method (BEM). Furthermore, the influence of the number of measurements is also discussed in the acoustic computation according three different schemes, then the optimal scheme can be obtained and it is very meaningful in acoustic response prediction for underwater structure.
