Abstract

The purpose of this present work is to optimize Wire EDM process parameters using Taguchi technique. The control parameters like Pulse on time (T-ON), Pulse off time (T-OFF), current (I) were chosen to check the performance measures in terms of Surface Roughness on AA6082-T6. A total of 9 (L9 OA) experimental runs were conducted using an orthogonal array and the ideal combination of control factor levels was determined for the Surface Roughness. The Taguchi method is applied by using MINITAB-18 software to identify the level of importance and optimal parameter for the machining.
