Abstract

This paper addresses an on-off damping isolation regulated by a two-tuning-knob single-sensor controller. The switching law is based on a frequency range selector combined from foundation's velocity, foundation's displacement and two tuning knobs. The advantages of proposed controller include: simple static switching law, single sensor requirement, analytical optimizing, avoidance of chatter and robust effectiveness. In the numerical demonstration, the simplicity, robustness, and effectiveness of the proposed optimized controller is illustrated, considering noisy measurements, time delay, modeling error, practical integration and excitation amplitude. A simple experiment illustrates the effectiveness of the proposed controller.
