Abstract

In order to improve the driving capability of the permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), this paper optimizes the stator slot and rotor optimization variables of PMSM with the average torque and torque ripple as the optimization objectives. Firstly, the sensitivity analysis is used to find out the optimization variables which have a greater influence on the optimization objective from the initial selection of optimization variables. Secondly, the Taguchi method and Finite element method (FEM) are used to derive the best combination of optimization variables. Finally, the initial and optimized FEM model is built. The results showed that the average torque of the motor was improved by 27.27% and the torque ripple is reduced by 46.99% after the optimization is done.
