Abstract
Because of the acceding demand on the products of the petrochemical industry, Naphtha is required to have such a high fraction of components which could easily transform to aromatics by chemical reactions, they are called precursors. Topping, is a unit in the refinery of Skikda in which an intermediate cut named medium and heavy naphtha is extracted from the bottom of the column 10C-63. A poor fractionation of the Splitter is the main cease of a bad quality of this cut. In this Study, we elaborate a simulation of the Splitter in design case and actual one to compare between theme and to be able to optimize the parameters that controls the separation. We propose to upper the reflex ratio in order to recover the maximum of the precursors and attend the main goal.
