Abstract
Using energy storage equipment is an effective solution to improve energy efficiency for urban railway lines. Two of the important parameters are the location and capacity of the storage device that will determine the efficiency of the power supply system. This paper presents an algorithm that combines the greed principle and the retrieval principle to determine the optimal location and capacity of supercapacitor storage stations along the track to maximize the economic benefits. The proposed algorithm is tested on a simulation model built based on the data of the Cat Linh - Ha Dong urban railway line. The simulation results show that the optimal installation of energy storage stations will increase maximum energy efficiency to contribute to economic growth and reduce the load peaks that will be reducing voltage fluctuations.
