Abstract

Abstract The use of the overlapping resolution mapping (ORM) procedure for the optimization of the HPLC separations of eight nitroaromatics employing reversed-phase isocratic elution is described. The ORM technique was used to establish the optimum mobile phase compositions for a given column. Further improvements in resolution were thereafter obtained on longer columns with similar packing materials, without any further optimization.
