Abstract

Abstract Drug related changes to lymphocyte populations and immune functions can indicate immunotoxicity in many species, including the dog. Immunoassays are routinely performed in human, monkey, and rodent samples, but few validated immunoassays specific for the dog exist. Here, we present five immunoassays optimized for functional and phenotypic analysis of canine adoptive and innate immunity. These assays were evaluated in canine peripheral blood and/or tissue to characterize immunomodulation effects and pharmacodynamics of stimuli and/or pharmaceuticals.
