Abstract

The critical experimental parameters necessary to obtain fluorescence excitation spectra of weakly fluorescing samples are presented, and the methods necessary for their determination are discussed. Details relating to experimental timing, optical alignment, supersonic jet operation, and nozzle design are of special importance.
