Abstract

The design parameters have its impact on the quality of the components produced. To achieve the customer demands and survival in the competitive market, the need of the optimization of design parameters has become essential. In the present work, deep groove ball bearing is selected and the dynamic load capacity of it is to be optimized. The objective function is to maximize dynamic load capacity with design parameters bearing pitch diameter, the ball diameter, number of rolling elements and inner and outer-race groove curvature coefficients. The advanced optimization technique like Jaya algorithm is selected for the optimization of deep groove ball bearing. The results of selected algorithm are compared with the values obtained from genetic algorithm and it is observed that the selected optimization technique gives the better solution than the genetic algorithm.
