Abstract

In this paper, we have analyzed and developed different types of algorithms related to 5G retainability and mobility procedures for Non Standalone (NSA) and Standalone (SA) mode. The 5G retainability is improved by reducing the total number of radio link failures (RLF). This will require an optimization of 5G timers, such as: T310; Inactivity timers and maximum number of radio link control (RLC) retransmissions. The new radio (NR) mobility will require to choose a good set of values for handover (HO) parameters. The aim is to improve both key performance indicators (KPIs) retainability and mobility and tune the main 5G radio parameters for NSA and SA networks.
