Abstract

Fracture parameters are the main factors that affect the productivity of fractured horizontal wells. In order to optimize reasonable fracture parameters, the mathematical model of a coupling between a horizontal well and fractures was established. The fractured horizontal well length, wellhole frictional resistance, fractures number, fracture length, fractures flow conductivity, and fracture spacing, etc. are comprehensive considered in this model. By means of the Green function and Newman’s product principle, the productivity of a fractured horizontal well under the condition of unsteady flow was obtained. It is shown that, the productivity of the fractured horizontal well increases with the increase of fracture flow conductivity. However, when the flow conductivity increases to a certain extent, the increase of productivity begins to decrease gradually. That is, there is an optimal fracture conductivity for fractured horizontal wells. For the known fracture number, there is an optimal fracturing horizontal well length; For the known horizontal well length, there is an optimal fracture number. So there is an optimal matching relationship between fracture number and horizontal wells length.KeywordsHorizontal wellFractureFlow conductivityProductivity
