Abstract

ABSTRACT To study the effect of the design parameters of dampers on seismic behaviors of the novel self-centering prefabricated concrete (SCPC) frame joint, eight pseudo-static loading tests with five sizes of dampers were conducted. Furthermore, three sizes parameters of dampers are applied on the seven-story prefabricated frames which are designed by the displacement-based method. Elastoplastic time-history analyses of three buildings are conducted at the DBE and MCE levels, respectively. Finally, the displacement-based seismic design method of the novel frame is implied to be effective, and the optimal design parameters of the proposed hysteretic damper for the novel SCPC frame are obtained.
