Abstract

AbstractAn optimization algorithm is described and was used to design colored glass filters arranged either side‐by‐side, or side‐by‐side in series for simulating CIE illuminant D65. Many optimal results were obtained in acceptable CPU time; the category of the D65 daylight simulators that were constructed was BE (CIELUV). These D65 daylight simulators have the advantages of metamerism index B in the visible range, a high color‐rendering index, and high light efficiency. Additionally, they use tungsten‐halogen lamps of low correlated color temperature.
