Abstract

Optimized simulation of central cooling system can promote ship energy-saving and reduce emission. It will cause energy waste by fix quantity pump with defect on the adjust ability with load fluctuation. An optimization and simulation environment were established with ISIGHT, which accomplish the optimize simulation on center heat exchangers and variable frequency pumps. The simulation and experimental results of one ship show that: the error between simulation and experiment data is 3.78 percent, meeting the requirement of engineering; variable frequency center cooling system achieve the 13$\sim$35 percent energy saving; the optimize simulation on variable frequency pumps and center heat exchangers must base on the ship load distribution and operation conditions.
