Abstract

In mammography screening, consistently excellent image quality is essential to detect small calcifications and subtle low contrast lesions at the earliest possible stage. Routine system performance measurement as part of our quality assurance programme has demonstrated persistent differences in objective image quality and client dose between two installed mammography system types, highlighting potential for optimisation.
