Abstract

The present paper describes the study performed on an X-750 alloy structural component in order to reduce the susceptibility that this material has shown in the past to intergranular stress corrosion cracking (IGSCC) in the BWR nuclear power plant environment. One choice to mitigate this phenomenon is to apply an adequate heat treatment. The optimisation of the parameters of the treatment is the main objective of this work, taking into account that the geometry of the element must be maintained according to its dimensional tolerances.
