Abstract

Education is a shared responsibility between schools and parents, and close cooperation between the two parties is the main key in realizing quality education. One form of effective parental participation is through the socialization of the school's annual program, which makes them an important partner in realizing the vision and mission of education. This activity aims to inform parents about the programs that will be implemented by the school during the school year. This community service activity focuses on optimizing the role of student parent representatives in the socialization process of the school's annual program. The goal is to increase parents' understanding of school programs, increase the active role of parent representatives in disseminating such information, and build stronger synergy and collaboration between schools and parents. This service activity was carried out by the method of lectures, discussions, and questions and answers. The service team provided material about the school's annual program to student parent representatives. Then, it was followed by a discussion and question and answer session to provide an opportunity for parents to ask questions and get further explanations. The results of the activity showed that the socialization of the school's annual program through the role of student parent representatives could increase parents' understanding of the school's annual program. Parents also become more motivated to participate in supporting the school's annual program. The cooperation between the school and parents is getting stronger. Socialization of the school's annual program through the role of student parent representatives is one of the effective strategies to increase parental participation in supporting the school's annual program. This can contribute to improving the quality of education.
