Abstract

This paper presents a new technique to determine optimal undervoltage load shedding based on multi-objective approach namely Multi-objective Ant Lion Optimizer (MOALO). MOALO is implemented according to five main step of hunting prey of ant lion in Ant Lion Optimizer (ALO) such as random walks of ants, building traps, entrapment of ants in traps, catching preys and re-building traps. There are two objective functions considered which are power loss minimization and voltage profile improvement. The MOALO is employed to search for the best amount of load to be shed by considering both objective functions simultaneously. The efficiency of MOALO technique is embellished in IEEE 30-bus Test System. The outcome shows better performance of MOALO in term of voltage profile improvement and power loss minimization after under voltage load shedding.
