Abstract

Energy storage system (ESS) can provide emergency power support to improving the reliability of the distribution grid. Aiming at multi-point grid connection ESS running on peak regulation as long-term scenario, the dynamic control method based on load prediction is proposed to maximize the peaking ability. By researching the calculation method on expected SOC of energy storage system, the emergency support capability index of ESS and the line fault loss rate index are established to evaluate the improvement effect of ESS on the power supply reliability of the distribution grid in the planning stage. Through analysis power output characteristic of ESS, the emergency support path planning scheme is given. Based on the site constraints and grid stability constraints, the economy and emergency support capacity of ESS are balanced as the objective function, and the siting/sizing model of ESS is constructed and solved by genetic algorithm. Finally, through the simulation of the example, the multi-point grid-connected ESS siting/sizing plan is given, and the impact of different distribution network reliability requirements on ESS planning is analyzed, which provides reference for the design and planning of ESS.
