Abstract
Wireless Power Transfer (WPT) and Non-Orthogonal Multiple Access (NOMA) are two emerging technologies towards next generation wireless networks. In this letter we assume the integration of those two technologies in Wireless Powered Communication Network (WPCN). We evaluate the impact of WPT time length and Successive Interference Cancellation (SIC) decoding order for an arbitrary number of terminals by assuming imperfect SIC. The optimal solution can be obtained by optimization solvers whereas a suboptimal solution is conceived based on analytical insights. Numerical results show that the decoding order is relevant for spectral efficiency maximization when imperfect SIC is assumed. Also, the proposed low-complexity solution shows a quasi-optimal performance.
