Abstract

Many sensors and systems for detecting toxic gases have been developed. Electrochemical and solid-state sensors are affected by various interferences. An effective method for the selection of a set of sensors based on a vector-space approach to the cross-sensitivity problem is presented. We believe that this method of selecting gas sensors will provide a new tool for designers of monitoring systems.
