Abstract

The heat pump (HP) has been recognized as the promising device to cooperate with the combined heat and power (CHP) units for better wind power integration in the combined heat and power system (CHPS). This paper investigates the optimal scheduling strategy of the CHP units with the HPs which are distributed at heat exchange stations (HES). In consideration of the thermal inertia of the district heating system (DHS), the method for controlling the on-off status and running power of the HPs is proposed. Finally, the optimal scheduling model of the CHPS is established. The excellent performance of the HPs on reducing wind power curtailment is verified with numerical studies.
