Abstract

In this paper we basically focus on the protection of transformer from over loading. To get protection from load shedding we connect the transformer in parallel. In this system, the operation of these transformers is governed by the nature & magnitude of the load connected with them. Distribution Transformer feeds different loads at a time. To protect one transformer we connect it with other in logical way such that equal load is shared between them. All this is done automatically using microcontroller. The microcontroller in which, Smart Load Sharing algorithms, based on the Neuro-Fuzzy logic are pre-programmed, in the event of any fluctuations in the electrical load demands. Based on these computations, the load is equally shared between different transformers, thus eliminating the problem of sudden electrical cut offs and maintaining the continuity of supply. Also transformer health is monitored in real time to get protection from transformer failure. This is done by GSM (Global System for Mobile Technology). This system is meant to ensure the protection of transformers against all the major faults and failures, like Overvoltage, Overheating and even, Line-to-Ground fault in the transmission lines.
