Abstract
AbstractA mathematical model to represent hepatitis C is presented. An objective functional keeping biomedical goals in mind is formulated. The optimal control problem is solved numerically to obtain an optimal efficacy of ribavirin in a combination treatment of ribavirin with interferon, where the efficacy of the latter has a clinically validated functional form.
