Abstract
This paper focuses on the development of the CAMSS Computer Aided Milling System Simulator) that describes the milling operation consisting o structural and cutting dynamic in a closed-loop configuration. The CAMSS incorporates an optimization algorithm to optimize the insert geometry, namely axial and radial rake angles of each insert in a face milling operation. Finally the paper highlights the comparative assessement between the optimal cutter and the conventional one and shows the superiority of the optimally designed cutter.
