Abstract

The objective of this paper is to improve the new techno-economic method Electric System Cascade Analysis (ESCA), by optimizing the power system and increasing the satisfaction of the energy load need. The analyses are based on geometric climate and economic data with their influence on the Loss of Power Supply Probability (LPSP) and Total Annual Cost (TAC). The verification method is made on a case study contains a photovoltaic (PV) system with storage battery located in the city of Oujda, Morocco. The simulation results show that the optimal configuration, that meet the desired system reliability requirements (LPSP<2), is obtained. The system consists of 51 PV panels(120Wp) and five storage batteries (210 Ah, 24 V) with the minimum annual cost 3995 €. Moreover, the choices of analysis of the geometric climate and economic data play important roles in reducing costs as well as responding to energy needs.
