Abstract
This paper is devoted to deal with optimal control problems of an extensible beam equation with pointwise state constraints. By making use of Ekeland's variational principle combined with penalization and spike variation techniques, we deduce necessary optimality condition in the form of a Pontryagin's maximum principle for an observation case.
