Abstract
A decomposition—coordination method is proposed in this paper to solve complex water distribution problems for optimal control. The proposed method is implemented in a three level hierarchical structure. A real world distribution problem is dealt with by the proposed method. In despite of the dimensionality and nonlinearity of the problem the method works effectively. The result from a computer simulation shows that the method developed in the paper has applicability and indicates some advantages over some other existing ones.
