Abstract

The optimal control design of self-excited vibration systems to generate limit cycles having desired amplitudes with a minimal supplying control energy is addressed in this paper. First, we formulate such design problem for n degree-of-freedom (n-DOF) self-excited vibration systems. Then we discuss how to constitute a 2-DOF self-excited vibration system from a passive vibration system by choosing a nonlinear feedback control law. The simulation results show the effectiveness of our proposed design method.
