Abstract

With the development of digital economy and the arrival of 5g era, the number and scale of data centers (DCs) are developing rapidly, followed by the rapid growth of energy consumption. Compared with the traditional energy supply system, the integrated energy system (IES) realizes the cascade utilization of energy through combined cooling, heating and power (CCHP) generation, which has the characteristics of high efficiency, environmental protection and flexible operation. In this paper, an IES is designed for green DC and a multi-objective optimization mathematical model with the goal of minimizing annual total cost and carbon emission is established. The case study is tested in a green DC in East China considering different scenarios. The results show that the configuration of IES for green DC can effectively reduce the carbon emissions and the energy consumption of DC. Meanwhile, IES can reduce the index of DC's power usage effectiveness (PUE) to make it greener.
