Abstract

With the continuous increase of renewable energy such as photovoltaic integrated into the low-voltage (LV) distribution network, high power losses, voltage violations and three-phase unbalance problems may happen due to the reverse power flows and randomness of PV power output. SVG and ESS have more ideal effects when dealing with the above power quality problems in LV distribution network. In order to improve power quality with minimum cost and achieve a coordinated configuration, this paper proposes a collaborative management method based on a bi-level programming model to optimize the configuration of ESS and SVG. By comparing the three configuration methods, the validity of the proposed model and algorithm is verified. Coordinated configuration of ESS and SVG is more economical and can effectively suppress the over-limit voltage, reduce the three-phase unbalance degree and network losses in distribution network with high penetration PV.
