Abstract

This paper proposes a calculation method for the self-inductive displacement sensor coil impedance based on the uneven change of the air gap area to ad-dress the issue that the uneven air gap between the stator and rotor of the self-inductive displacement sensor with multi pole symmetrical structure leads to large error in the calculation of the sensor coil impedance when the air gap is small. The self-inductive displacement sensor with eight magnetic pole’s structure is simulated by ANSYS. The variation in sensor coil impedance across the entire air gap range is examined, and the output of three different calculation techniques is contrasted. The findings demonstrate the effectiveness of the calculation method taking the uneven change of air gap in-to account in reducing the error brought on by the uneven change of air gap between the stator pole and the rotor when the rotor moves, and they serve as a useful guide for the design and modeling of the self-inductive displacement sensor.
