Abstract
A new blast-furnace charging system ensures more uniform azimuthal distribution and optimally nonuniform radial distribution of the batch and gas. The coke consumption is reduced by 20–30 kg/t of hot metal, with 2% increase in output. The new design should recoup its cost within a year.
