Abstract

Based on a hybrid genetic algorithm, the bandwidth for distributedmulti-pump Raman amplifier (DMRA) is optimized. Optimal results showthat signal bandwidth Δλ can be evidently broadened by means ofincreasing the number of pumps, Δλ decreases with the increase ofRaman gain and with the improvement of flatness property, and the hybriderbium-doped fibre amplifier and DMRA can availably overcome theweakness of pure DMRA.
