Abstract

Wavelet bases are mainly used in the methods of moments (MoM) to render the system matrix sparse; clipping entries below a given threshold is an essential operation to obtain the desired sparse matrix. In this paper, we present a novel a priori way to estimate the clipping threshold that can be used if one wants an error on the solution below a desired accuracy. The procedure has a very low computational complexity, typically of O(N).
