Abstract
In the conditions of velocity selective optical pumping we have experimentally observed interference oscillations of D 1-line absorption coefficient of Rb vapor in weak magnetic field and alignment induced crossover resonance in the saturated absorption spectrum of D 2 line of 87Rb. The first effect was caused by precession of macroscopic magnetic momentum induced by strong pulsed circularly polarized resonant laser radiation. The second effect was caused by alignment in a weak external magnetic field oriented along the electric field vector E → of the linearly polarized laser field.
