Abstract

Angular distributions for the elastic scattering of protons by 16O, 17O and 18O have been measured at a bombarding energy of 65 MeV. The 16O data has been fit with a standard optical-model search as well as with a generalized optical-model potential derived from three-body theory which uses a fully off-shell T-matrix as the effective interaction. The 17O and 18O data were fit using the calculated 16O potential plus the contribution from the valence nucleon(s). High-quality fits to the data have been achieved for all three oxygen isotopes.
