Abstract

A new self-clocked self-routing technique is presented to ultra-high-speed photonic switches using optical signal processing, which uses two different wavelengths to carry address bits and clock pulses, respectively. Due to the separation of wavelengths, optical clock and address signals can be independently processed at each switching node. Consequently, the routing reliability is increased.
