Abstract

In this paper, a stub loaded circular microstrip antenna (CMSA) has been proposed, for optically switching the resonant frequency using silicon switch. Photoconductive silicon switch is placed along the length of the stub loaded CMSA. The effect of varying parameters viaz., width, length and photo-conductivity of a silicon switch has been investigated through simulation. The proposed stub loaded CMSA with photoconductive switch, has achieved frquency switching range of around 142 MHz. Measurement has been carried out to validate the proposed geometry, which are in good agreement.
