Abstract
Ho 3+:La 3Ga 5SiO 14 (LGS) single crystals with good optical quality were grown by Czochralski method. Its absorption and emission spectra were measured at room temperature. Based on the Judd–Ofelt theory, the following spectral parameters have been obtained: intensity parameters Ω t ( t = 2, 4, 6), Ω 2 = 1.85 × 10 −20 cm 2, Ω 4 = 0.32 × 10 −20 cm 2 and Ω 6 = 0.56 × 10 −20 cm 2, radiative transition probabilities A J′, J″ , the oscillator strength of the absorption/emission band. The radiative lifetime, the fluorescence branching ratios and the value of integrated emission cross-sections are also calculated.
