Abstract

We propose an optical transport device made of a three-core optical fiber. In this device the output light beams compose the transport trajectory. The main part of the optical transport device is the fiber end which is ground at a specific angle by the fiber end grinding technology. Moreover, in order to adjust the optical power in each core independently, the three-core fiber probe is connected to a three-channel optical source through a multi-core fiber fan-in and fan-out device. Then by switching the optical power of each core, the micro particle can move along different trajectories. As a result, the proposed three-core fiber probe can be potentially used for transporting drugs or sorting particles in the field of biomedicine.
