Abstract

Zinc Sulphate doped L-Ascorbic Acid (ZSLAA) crystal is grown by a slow evaporation method. The comparison of PXRD, EDAX, ICPOES and thermal analysis results the presence of dopant in the LAA crystal. The total concentration of ZnSO4 in LAA is found to be 0.0081 mol. The crystal becomes transparent in the visible region and it becomes stable up to 197 °C. The SHG efficiency is 0.16 times that of KDP crystal. Optical transmittance, SHG efficiency, dielectric constant and mechanical properties are enhanced upon doping. The ZSLAA crystal exhibits ferromagnetic nature at lower field with steep hysteresis loop having coercivity and magnetization as 32.67G and 276.65E−6 emu respectively.
