UBV photometry of field stars. van den Bergh, S. Abstract UB V photometry is reported for seventy-eight stars that are located within 300" of the center of expansion of Cas A. These observations show that there are no OB stars with Av < 6 mag within 4 pc of the supernova. The origin of the H ii region surrounding Cas A is briefly discussed.
